Move over, sugary desserts! This recipe is here to prove that healthy can be just as delicious (and maybe even more!).
Introducing Plum Perfect, a delightful treat featuring juicy plums as the star ingredient. It’s perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth without going overboard on sugar.
Now let’s dive into the ingredients and method for creating this delicious dish!
Ingredients:

✨ 2 Plums: Choose ripe but firm plums for the best texture. You can use any variety you like.
✨ 50g Greek Yogurt: Opt for plain Greek yogurt to control the sweetness level. You can use low-fat or full-fat yogurt depending on your preference.
✨ Juice of ½ Lemon: This adds a refreshing tartness that complements the sweetness of the plums.
✨ Zest of ½ Orange: Orange zest brings a bright citrusy aroma and complements the plums beautifully.
✨ 20g Maple Syrup: You can adjust the amount of maple syrup to your taste preference. For a lower-sugar option, you can also try using a drizzle of honey.
✨ 5g Fresh Ginger & Cardamom Pods: For bold flavours & spice
✨ 10g Almond Flour: Almond flour adds a nutty flavor and healthy fats to the recipe.
✨ 10g Rolled Oats: Rolled oats provide a satisfying textural contrast and some extra fiber.
✨ 5g Pistachios (optional): Chopped pistachios add a nice salty crunch to the dish. You can substitute other nuts or chopped seeds like almonds or walnuts.
✨ Handful of Mint (optional): Fresh mint leaves add a pop of freshness to the dessert.
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Wash, halve, and pit the plums.
2. In a pan, heat maple syrup, lemon juice, orange zest, ginger, and cardamom pods. Remove from heat and stir in almond flour and oats to form a dough.
3. Stuff the plum halves with the dough and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
4. Plate the stuffed plums with Greek yogurt. Garnish with chopped pistachios and mint (optional).
This dessert is perfect for anyone and super versatile. Plums are a great source of essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. They also help regulate blood sugar levels. Greek yogurt provides more protein than regular yogurt, making you feel fuller for longer. Plus, it’s a good source of calcium and probiotics, which contribute to gut health.
