Day two was all about leaving the city behind and chasing a different kind of magic.
I joined another Get your Guide tour – From Lisbon: Sintra, Pena Palace, Regaleira, Cabo da Roca, and Cascais – they have different options with different prices. I highly recommend the Regaleira and the exterior of Pena Palace.
We started the day in Cascais, a relaxed coastal town that feels effortlessly charming. I grabbed something sweet from Pastelaria Aloma and walked along the water. Such a pretty place and one that I would love to visit in the warmer months.

From there, we made our way to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Standing on the cliffs with the wind in my hair and the Atlantic crashing below was grounding in the best way one of those moments that makes you feel very small and very alive at the same time.

In the afternoon we headed to Sintra and it honestly felt like stepping into another world. Misty hills, colourful palaces, winding paths – it’s dreamy in the most unreal way.

Plus I was really looking forward to trying the famous travesseiros at Casa Piriquita….and they did not disappoint!

After lunch we headed to Quinta da Regaleira, mysterious and symbolic, with hidden tunnels and the iconic Initiation Well (which I missed cause I was too busy taking pictures that I didn’t realise the time!)

Our last stop was Pena Palace. Perched high above everything, the palace stood bright and bold against the clouds, or in our case, the thick fog. Maybe it was the mist rolling in, the wind whipping around us, or maybe just the atmosphere of the place itself, but I couldn’t shake a slightly eerie feeling. Visiting the inside costs around €20, plus the extra fee for the bus ride up to the top. Is it worth it? I’m still debating that one.

The tour lasts approximately eight hours and, in my opinion, it’s definitely worth it, but only if you have more than a long weekend in Lisbon. I’d also recommend avoiding visiting during the summer months, as I imagine it gets absolutely overrun with tourists.
I ended my day at the lovely Pinóquio restaurant, where I enjoyed some absolutely delicious food but I was so exhausted that I didn’t even manage to take a single photo!
Happy Travels xoxo
