Egypt: 3 Holidays in 1 – Culture, Adventure & Relax

Khan el-Khalili bazaar

If someone had told me that Egypt would become one of my favourite trips ever, I probably would’ve nodded politely and thought: “Sure, pyramids…sunshine…camels… lovely.” But here I am, writing this from 30,000 feet on my flight home, already planning my return.

Because Egypt?
Egypt is three holidays in one and an experience you will NEVER forget!

I was invited by TourRadar to join one of their Egypt tours with Timeless Tours and although I screamed “YES!” the moment they asked…what followed was total panic. My first time in Egypt. A solo traveller. The internet full of mixed reviews. You know the drill.

But now that I’ve been, seen, sweated, adventured, sunbathed, snorkelled and floated my way through the Nile…I can tell you with my whole heart: I didn’t know how much I needed Egypt.

So let me break it down.

Here’s how Egypt gives you culture, adventure and relaxation, all in one trip.

Start by going to TourRadar and browsing all the Egypt tours available for your preferred dates. To make things easier, I’ll share the exact tour I took – it was perfect from the moment I landed in Cairo to the moment I had to say goodbye: Best of Egypt – 5* Cruise

Now let me tell you why this tour felt like three holidays in one.

1. The Culture Trip of Dreams

Saqqara – Step Pyramid

From the moment you land, Egypt launches a full-blown assault on your senses. Dust, colour, sound, heat, chaotic traffic (if I thought Naples was bad this was another level entirely!), people walking on the motorway like it’s no big deal, unfinished buildings everywhere…it’s a cultural shock.

But oh my goodness…the history.

Pyramids of Giza

Standing in front of the Pyramids of Giza got me so emotional. Nothing prepares you. They are massive, mysterious and genuinely magical.

The Sphinx? Iconic.
Saqqara? Mind-blowing engineering.
The Valley of the Kings? Like stepping into a real-life documentary.
The brand-new GEM Museum in Cairo? Show-stopping.

And the best part?
You’re not just seeing these places…you feel the history on your skin.

If you love history, mystery, and incredible stories, Egypt is the place for you.

2. The Adventure You Didn’t Know You Needed

Hot Air Balloon – Luxor

This trip is action-packed from sunrise to sunset (and sometimes before sunrise…hello 4am hot air balloon wake-up call!)

Some of the adventures we got up to:

  • A Nile cruise on the gorgeous Lady Mary (yes, including a pool and a stunning sundeck where you can sunbathe and watch the Nile go by!)
  • Visiting temples that pop out of nowhere in the desert like movie sets
  • Watching merchants throw goods up onto boats while sailing (wild)
  • Touring Cairo’s chaotic-but-fabulous bazaar
  • Hot air ballooning over Luxor at sunrise, an absolute bucket-list moment
  • Snorkelling in the Red Sea among colours so bright it felt like swimming in a cartoon
  • Road trips, desert drives, internal flights…you name it, we did it!

Egypt will push you out of your comfort zone in the best possible way. I found myself doing things I wouldn’t normally do and loving every minute.

3. Blissful Relaxation (Yes, Really!)

First relaxing on board of the Lady Mary while cruising up the Nile…a holiday in itself!

Then…after days of sightseeing, heat, early mornings and packing/unpacking, we headed to Hurghada and checked into the all-inclusive Gravity Hotel.

Sun loungers, warm sea water, poolside cocktails, water slides (yes we went on them), a spa, entertainment, food on tap…bliss.

Two days here was exactly what I needed to reset before heading back into Cairo for our final days.

Egypt isn’t just a holiday, it’s an experience that imprints itself into your memory.

It’s cultural immersion, once-in-a-lifetime adventure & relaxation on a boat and beautiful beaches all wrapped in one unforgettable tour.

Be honest…just how badly do you want to visit Egypt now?

Happy travels xoxo
